Welcome from Dr. Ross Morgan

Dear Vikan Families and Community,

It is an incredible honor to serve as the Principal of Vikan Middle School. From my very first interactions with students, families, and staff, it has been clear that Vikan is a special place—a school with a proud tradition, a caring community, and a shared commitment to helping every student succeed. I am excited to join the Vikan family and look forward to partnering with you as we continue building a school where every student is known, challenged, supported, and inspired to grow.

 Throughout my career, I have worked alongside educators to improve instruction, strengthen school culture, expand opportunities for students, and ensure that every child has access to the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I have led this work through my time in the classroom, district wide data and assessment coordinator, and assistant principal. These experiences have strengthened my belief that great schools are built through strong relationships, exceptional teaching, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. 

As principal, my vision is rooted in partnership. I believe the greatest success comes when students, families, staff, and the community work together toward common goals. At Vikan, we will continue to foster a culture of belonging, high expectations, and academic excellence. We will celebrate student growth, encourage curiosity and creativity, and challenge every learner to discover their strengths while preparing them for success in high school and beyond. Further, we will challenge our staff and our community to engage in this important work.  Middle school represents some of the most dynamic years in our students’ lives, and our community will rise to support each and every child.  

Thank you for welcoming me into the Vikan community. I look forward to meeting each of you, learning your stories, and working together to make this an exceptional year for our Knights. Together, we will continue to build a school where every student feels valued, every family feels connected, and every learner is empowered to reach their fullest potential.
