Principal
Welcome from Principal Velez
Fabricio Velez has been selected as the new principal of Vikan Middle School.
Fabricio has served in leadership positions in other schools along the front range providing support to students and their learning. He’s also consulted with schools, districts and community organizations where he used his expertise in building programs that best met students’ academic needs.
Recently, Fabricio was working at Stuart Middle School as principal when we asked him to take on Vikan’s interim principal role. He considered serving the community and its students a real honor. We were impressed with his devotion and commitment to his staff and students. It wasn’t long when we asked Fabricio to transition into the position permanently.
Fabricio is a passionate leader who told us the Vikan principalship was his “dream job” and that he has a clear vision for cultivating a learning environment providing support for students’ social, emotional and academic growth.
We’re confident in Fabricio’s leadership and commitment to our community and we will support him as he engages the students, staff and families in the coming year.
Fabricio earned his bachelor of arts degree from Universidad Central Del Ecuador in 2000. From there he went on to the University of Colorado and earned his masters degree in curriculum and instruction in 2004. He also earned his principal licensure from the Morgridge College of Education in 2008 and was a Latino Leadership Institute Fellow at the University of Denver in 2017.
We’re pleased to have Fabricio as our Vikan Middle School principal and are excited to see him put his skills and experience to work supporting our students, families and staff.
