New principal selected for Vikan Middle School

Dear Vikan Families,

I am pleased to share that Dr. Ross Morgan has been selected as the next principal of Vikan Middle School. He will officially begin his role on July 1, 2026.

Throughout a rigorous and inclusive interview process that included staff and community voice, Ross stood out for his deep commitment to students, his focus on equity and high expectations, and his clear belief that every child deserves to feel known, challenged, and supported. He brings strong experience in using data to improve student outcomes, building collaborative teams, and engaging families as true partners in the learning process.

Dr. Morgan is an innovative and thoughtful leader who understands the importance of both strong systems and strong relationships. He believes in creating learning environments where students feel a sense of belonging and where teachers are empowered to do their best work. His vision aligns with our commitment to continuous improvement and to ensuring that Vikan remains a place where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

In the coming months, Dr. Morgan will work closely with school and district leaders to ensure a smooth transition. There will be opportunities this spring for families, staff, and students to meet him and begin building relationships before the new school year begins.
